Glasgow ist mit der ScotRail von Edinburgh Waverley (so was wie ein Hbf) nur eine Stunde entfernt. Die Züge sind nicht überfüllt und es gibt sogar WiFi (naja, bei uns hat das nicht zwischen den Städten funktioniert, aber seien wir mal optimistisch und nehmen an, es gab an diesem Tag eine Störung).
Glasgow ist mit etwa 600.000 Einwohnern die größte Stadt Schottlands und nach London und Birmingham die drittgrößte Stadt des Vereinigten Königreichs.In den 1990er Jahren hat sich Glasgow kontinuierlich von seinem Niedergang erholt. Die Stadt hat in den vergangenen 15 bis 20 Jahren große Summen in die Renovierung und Restaurierung einer Vielzahl von Gebäuden investiert. Durch diesen Aufwand ist die Lebensqualität in der Stadt spürbar gestiegen. 1990 wurde (statt London oder Edinburgh) überraschenderweise Glasgow 6. Europäische Kulturhauptstadt und erhielt 1999 den Architektur- und Designpreis. 2003 wurde Glasgow Europäische Sporthauptstadt.
Ich habe diese Stadt als sehr vielfältig empfunden. Es gab Teile der Stadt die sehr historisch und dadurch sehr interessant wirkten, aber es gab auch welche, die mehr Modern sind. Viel Spaß mit meinen Impressionen.
Welchen Eindruck macht auf euch Glasgow von den Bildern her?

Glasgow jest za pośrednictwem ScotRail z dworca Edinburg Waverley (coś, jak dworzec główny) oddalony jedynie godzinę jazdy. Pociągi są wygodne, niezbyt zapełnione i jest nawet WiFi (w naszym przypadku działało tylko w pobliżu miast, ale bądźmy optymistyczni i załóżmy, że tamtego dnia akurat coś się zepsuło).

By ScotRail it is only one hour journey from Edinburgh Waverley to Glasgow. The trains are very comfortable, not overfilled and there is even WiFi (well in our case it worked only when the train was in the big cities, but lets be optimistic and think, that day something went wrong).
