As a blogger you have to the rare opportunity to speak to a larger number of people. From time to time I like to use this opportunity to write something more significant, than the way I bought a blouse. I am aware that the majority of my readers are women, who are interested in (Plus Size) fashion and I want my texts to stay in this theme. What I want to tell you today is that you shouldn't allow the sellers to make a fool of you. As a blogger I visit a huge amount of plus size online stores to gather some materials for my posts. What I discovered is the fact, that plus size clothing (at least in Germany) is everything else than cheap. If you wear a standard size you can decide if you want to wear yourself cheap or a little more sophisticated. Its up to you whether you buy a shirt for 9€ or one for 39€ or 59€. By plus size its rather impossible to find such cheap alternatives. Of course, they need more fabric to produce plus size clothes, but is this really so much more?
What I really wanted to say is that the prices match rarely with the quality. Anyone who thinks that the company might offer the seamstresses in Asia more money or better working conditions is wrong. End of fall and all winter long I was looking for pullovers, tat not only have a great cut but are also made of real wool. It was quite difficult. At the beginning , I was naive and thought that if the price is in a three-figure it has to be made of natural materials, but it was not even cotton but acrylic or polyester. Unfortunately producers require large sums for dresses, sweaters, shirts or jackets made of plastic.
The jacket I wear on this pictures is made of pure wool and I immediately noticed the difference. Wearing wool is much warmer and you do not need as many layers to be warm in winter. By lighter clothes I find cotton or viscose much more comfortable to wear than polyester.
I'm not trying to persuade to choose only natural fabrics, because you might buy nothing any more in winter. But before you buy something expensive have a look from what it is made of. Believe me, you can live without expensive acrylic. And with your money, its like with the elections, you dial with them. Your show the producers, that you find it okay to pay so much for the clothes they made. If something lays in the store, untouched, its a sign to the producers, that people don't want this and that they should offer them something better!
